Springtime is an opportunity to think about what seeds we want to plant for the future and how we can open up to new possibilities. Whether you’re literally “plan”-ting a garden or reflecting on fresh starts and renewals, here are some tips to help you “spring forward!”
Before you plant a garden or make a fresh start, you need a plan. Know where the sun shines (your strengths and inspirations) and where the shady spots lie (your weaknesses.) Let Spring’s energy flow through you and allow yourself to be creative. Then, write it all down.
Once you’ve decided what kind of garden, new habit or idea you’d like to plant, it’s time to put it into action. Breaking ground, breaking through and cultivating your dreams can turn them into realities. But you have to move to improve.
Show your garden (or yourself) some kindness. In tending a garden you have to weed and fertilize. Keeping track of your self-care and making it routine will help your mind, body and spirit flourish.
Nature works in cycles, and it shows us that there is a season for every thing. When you are working on new goals or re-setting old ones, make sure to give them time. While seeds can sprout in as little as a few days, it takes 21 – 90 days to form a new habit.
Give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done, and practice gratitude for the ability to do it.
